Some interesting commentary here...

Here is an interesting time comparison to put in your special file...

George Slezak from commitmentsoftraders.com tracks market tops for the time count from the day of the high, looking for a volatile move coming between 50 and 60 calendar days after the top. He has a chart that shows the recent big couple of up days came 55 days after THE LOW. The 18th was the 55th day since the day of the low. The Thursday and Friday up move was the 54th and 55th calendar days since the low.

In 1929, the CRASH was the 54th and 55th calendar days after the high.

The crash in 1987 came on the 55th and 56th calendar days after the top, and the weeks after were extremely volatile, both UP AND DOWN.

Yale Hirsch's Traders Almanac's SPX Monthly averages say May and June (the 3rd and 5th worst months of the year) are not great months for the market. But, If we have a top in early to mid June, 60 days later would put us in AUGUST, the worst performing month of the year for the SPX with the exception of September since 1950.

This would coincide with what would appear to be very poor Q2 and 3 earnings seasons.
