Itanium is a development platform: news.cnet.com "But Gordon Graylisch, Intel's director of e-business and communications solutions, admitted on Friday that Itanium will mainly be used as a development technology for IA-64 while companies wait for Itanium's successor, McKinley, next year. " But we knew that all along, even though Intel would never pubically admit Merced was dead. It has been dead for a very long time. It was dead when Windows wasn't there for it. Beta Linux at FRS sure doesn't help matters either. Gee, will Dell pre-load AIX? ;-) Rob
