re: "Semi Equipment & Materials Book-to-Bill 0.42"

I wonder how much of this is due to the "inteL effecT" alone. inteL is pledged to spending over $7 billion during the next year ( $12 billion during the next 18 months ) on a chip producing infrastructure for which a market does not appear to be materializing ( at least not for inteL ), and which may not be based on sound principles since at least one of the fundamental components ( that darn piece of crap from Silicon Valley Group ) may be attempting, in its current embodiment, to push the laws of physics so far as to be unsound in design.

inteL's denials, not withstanding, it is fundamental ( maybe funny mental applies better here ) to inteL's 0.13 infrastructure effort and the estimated delays for delivery ( of a correctly designed device ) range from 5 months to over a year before a workable solution is achieved.

Another really tough issue for inteL is that iT is spending all of the cash that iT has projected on top of an extremely rapidly declining profit base ( thank you AMD ) which will cause iT to very rapidly burn through virtually all of iT's cash. Just imagine what iT's balnce sheet will look like in a year or two if current trends are to continue.

Maybe iT can sell it's headquarters building and lease it back to raise money.

Patient Regards,

DARBES
