Couldn't say. The most persistent set of rumors was that Oracle would make an offer for PARQ. They would embed PARQ's tools in Oracle 8, so that they could claim their database had object capabilities.

Right now, from what I understand <and I'm not a developer>, Oracle DB stores objects by stripping them and mapping them to relational tables.

Java rules right now, which is why I don't believe PARQ will attract many buyers. There's just no value in the franchise.
