I think politicians in general (all parties) are guilty of saying one thing during an election campaign and then not quite following through with all the promises, for what ever reason.

However, I think a line should be drawn in the sand (legally) preventing elected officials from switching party affiliations after elected. I think all that donated to Sen James Jeffords's campaign should sue to have those donations returned...

To switch a party affiliation after being elected is as two faced as a politician can become. If I were a resident of his state, I would NEVER vote for James Jeffords (no matter which party I belonged to) knowing his lack of integrity allows him to have no qualms betraying those that funded his campaign and voted for him.
