Erroll flinched, knowing that Bugs Pond could be a damned nuisance when he started thinking, but he said nothing.

Erroll sighed to himself, and then rose slowly to let Bugs see how imposing a hamster can be when he is roused. He saw that Bugs was cringing, realizing his outburst was a mistake, and then changed his mind about punishing him severely.
