re: Nokia (and Nortel) get Omnitel (Italy) 3G Award Nortel and Nokia Win Italian 3G contract 23rd May 2001 UK Cellular News Omnitel Vodafone has selected Nortel and Nokia to jointly provide it with UMTS infrastructure. Nokia has secured 30% of the contract, and Nortel also has 30%. The remaining 40% of the infrastructure contract will be awarded to one of the two companies later. The Nortel contract is worth US$39 million, and although Nokia has not commented on the value of its contract it is probably in the same price bracket. - Eric -
