Inmarsat article about them trying to privatise at USA instigation. USA wants at least 80% publicly owned. They ajourned to the next meeting. Yawn!

But look! Inmarsat is thriving with their briefcase sized handsets.

"Inmarsat is a healthy business, with revenues continuing to grow," said Lawrence Paul, director of international relations for Comsat Mobile Communications. "Contrary to some reports, we are not at a crisis point."

"We will focus on our strategic mission beginning at the July council, and out of that will come the drive for restructuring," said Thomas Collins, vice president and general manager for Comsat Mobile Communications. "Commercial pressures are going to build up and move us in that direction."

Motorola's proposed CDMA satellite constellation is the nearest thing to a threat to the great and wonderful Globalstar at present.

Fly satellites, fly! Look up to the stars everyone.
