It's just my opinion, but some type of deal between ALA/LU is close to being signed. If the deal is for all of LU, then there will probably a major restructuring encompassing a substantial layoff of LU employees. If the deal is for all of Lu, then ALA will have a major job of presenting the rationale for the acquisition. ALA will have to do a credible job of convincing Wall Street that ALA management can pull this off successfully. My guess is that an acquisition of LU will open access to more customers with different needs. In addition, an acquisition could precede additional consolidation in the industry.
