In India the practical speed on a Cybercafe internet connection is less than 10kbps. You can have several sips of Coffee before the screen refreshes with a new web-page. And this access costs $1 an hour. I think a PDA/Phone such as the Palm Phone, with a price tag under $300 will find widespread use. If people can afford a $300 palm, they cna afford adesktop with their own internet connection and would not have ot go to the cybercafe. Furthermore there would be a cost (yet unkown) to get your e-mail and web wireless access. And how many years will it be to get govt. approvals and wireless cos. to install such equipment?
