While it is difficult to maintain a healthy perspective when investing, it is particularly difficult when considering an investment in gold. The metal has the ability to blind an individual, making a rational decision difficult. Fortunately, the intangibles surrounding the gold market have lost a lot of their mystique over the past several years. The clumsy management style of the producers along with the derivative market has created an artificial reserve pool that is available to the market at the propitious time to short circuit cyclical swings characteristic of a commodity. To date, this scenario has not changed, rendering any rally suspect. Ken
