SeaView Hooks Trophy Angler, Costco ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--
(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 2001--SeaView Video Technology, Inc. (OTCBB:SEVU) (www.sevu.com) today announced two new retail partnerships for SeaView products. Jimmy Houston, a top angler in B.A.S.S. and other associations, (www.jimmyhouston.com) operates marine dealerships in the boating-intensive areas of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, a travel division specializing in sport-fishing destinations, and a television production company. Houston, "The Cookson Kid," also billed as "America's Favorite Fisherman," hosts a weekly television show on cable network Espn2.
Ken Crolee, Director of Marketing for Jim Houston, Inc., said, "Jimmy Houston looks to establish a strong working relationship with Team SeaView, and grow as SeaView grows with their quality line of innovative products. Within this partnership SeaView products are to be sold in all of Jimmy Houston's stores by Father's Day. The first of 6 orders shipped today and the balance to follow in the next several days. In addition to selling SeaView products Jimmy's production crew will start filming their show with SeaView underwater video cameras, as early as next weekend.
Consumers can see the SeaView products in use on Jimmy Houston Outdoors and Jimmy's Outdoor World on Espn2." George S. Bernardich III, CEO, said, "I am extremely excited about the addition of Jimmy Houston, Inc. to Team SeaView. His television shows air 52 weeks per year and his Hall of Fame freshwater fishing status will greatly enhance SeaView's growth in the freshwater fishing market."
SeaView has entered the wholesale club arena with Costco Wholesale Corporation (Nasdaq:COST), the largest wholesale club operator in the United States. SeaView COO Michael A. Ambler announced that SeaView has been awarded a Costco vendor number. "This is the first and most critical step in the business relationship, and it has been in process for several months," Ambler stated. "A vendor number is required to do business with all of the major retailers in our market segmentation plan, as it is the basis to set up our EDI system for orders, shipping and invoicing. We currently have several vendor packages in process and I will announce those as we receive confirmation of those vendor numbers.
Costco is a key partner in the wholesale club market segment that will bring SeaView and SecureView products to its 30 million members via the internet and its 300 membership-warehouse stores."
Parking-lot security problems have been the subject of recent reports on CBS-TV's "60 Minutes." Over 2.3 million Americans were victims of theft in a parking lot or garage in 1999, according to US Statistical Tables. The SecureView R&D team fielded several requests for cost effective solutions to parking-lot surveillance.
Preliminary site surveys and equipment recommendations have been completed for a key mass-market retailer. Using SecureView patented IRFS technology, parking-lot cameras deliver video to TV monitors inside the store, where they can be seen both by customers and store security personnel.
"Smart" switchers and direct-to-disk recording equipment are options which integrate with a store's existing CCTV equipment. Costing dramatically less than other CCTV systems, SecureView installations are quickly achieved without additional wiring. Maintenance is also simpler, since local electrical contractors can replace the units instantly, simply by screwing in another "bulb."
