Ted; After 4 years of the shrub, we will have lost the right to call someone stupid.

I forgot to mention to you this little anecdote... as you know.. we've had some rather nasty trade disputes with the US.. ... one of these happenned to be PEI potatoes... the US has shut down the border to them for over a year due to some potato wart being found on one potato.. even tho it was an isolated incident and none of that was found anywhere else.. the US had refused to allow potatoes to cross over in the name of being cautious.. most PEI farmers felt it was being used as an excuse to be protectionist..

Anyhow.. nothing had progressed with this.. til about a few weeks ago when Bush was here at the Quebec Summitt... Prime minister Chretien was hosting Bush at a gala dinner... which included among other things potatoes.. apparently, Bush liked them so much he asked for a 2nd helping... to which Chretien coyly replied they were PEI potatoes... the same ones that had been banned for a year from US soil.. and which were apparently good enough to eat up here.

a few days later.. . the US lifts the ban against PEI potatoes rather unexpectedly.. coincidence? ;)
