Hi Gene Parrott; Re the DDR for P4 from Intel. I finally did find a hit on a search for the elusive quad pumped 133MHz Intel FSB for the P4:

The same 478-pin socket will be used by the 0.13-micron Northwood Pentium 4 at year-end, supporting 512KB on-chip cache, up to 533MHz bus using dual PC1066 RDRAMs with dual PC2100 SDRAM buses in some chipsets, dual-CPU operation, and possibly some other features left out of the current Pentium 4.

Here's some links saying that Brookdale only runs at PC1600 rates:

Feb 27, 2001:
"We don't believe PC266 [DDR] works on paper," MacWilliams said, adding that the company will only support PC200 [i.e. PC1600] DDR [S]DRAM when Brookdale's DDR interface rolls out next year.

Spring 2001 IDF:
As the Pentium 4 & Xeon FSB's run at 100MHz (quad-pumped to 400MHz) it is difficult to implement a DDR design where the memory bus and FSB are not synchronous. Thus only PC1600 DDR-SDRAM can be used with the P4 bus.

Probably the thing to note is that:
(1) Intel says PC266 may not work, but they said the same thing about PC133 before they chipsets for it.
(2) The PC1600 limitation is tied to the 4x100MHz FSB.
(3) PC2100 has already shown itself stable, so it is pretty clear that Intel will support it, as anandtech says, if they can get the FSB to 133MHz:

If Intel were to increase the FSB on the Pentium 4 next year, PC1066 may be the perfect complement.

P.S. You guys should hear what the Intel reps are saying about you in meetings under NDA: all new chipsets are DDR.
