SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 2001--Interactive Telesis(TM), Inc. (OTCBB:TSIS), a provider of interactive voice response (IVR) and speech-enabled hosting services, today announced that it has been selected by EssengentTM to host and develop a custom IVR application for the financial industry. Under the agreement, Interactive Telesis will perform all technical development, testing, installation and hosting of the application.
Essengent provides one source for end-to-end Web-based and traditional communications solutions. Whether online collaborative meetings or high-speed Internet access, Essengent's services are built to scale to any size business -- promoting increased performance by effectively clearing a pathway to efficiency for small and large customers alike.
Developed by Essengent, the IVR application is designed to allow financial analysts to call into the IVR application throughout the day and record market commentaries for institutional investors. Investors can then access, via phone, any of the recorded analyst commentaries at their convenience to receive up-to-date information on various industries. The application also provides a separate module for transcribers to call and transcribe the individual commentaries into text for "hard copy" purposes.
"Today's announcement with Essengent continues to validate our short-term mandate of driving towards revenue-generating opportunities," said Andrew Schachter, Interim CEO of Interactive Telesis. "By offering technically superior IVR solutions with outstanding engineering support and implementation, Interactive Telesis is enabling its customers to focus on their core business while trusting us to use the right combination of managed hosting and professional services to allow them to cost-effectively scale their applications."
"Once the trial period for the application has passed, it is expected to generate approximately $175,000 in revenue its first full year," said Schachter.
"Interactive Telesis' hosting capabilities and depth of experience in IVR will enable us to bring our application to market quickly and effortlessly," said Ray Urrutia, CEO of Essengent. "After exploring many options, we felt that Interactive Telesis provided the best solution to meet our growth needs and will be a strong technical partner in the evolution of our services. We expect this to be the first of many hosting assignments for Interactive Telesis."
