Max, I didn't expect the jobless claims to have an effect. If they went down then the economy is improving (as we already have been told), if they go up then we already know the economy is bad (one more piece of validation doesn't matter). I'm frankly surprised that the new housing starts had any impact, but that may have been my naivete mixing with my cynicism. I still think the pundits will be saying something like "the markets shook of the slightly disappointing..." and have the lemmings back in marching formation in short order. Doug
