nokia, motorola and ericsson make commodities. the difference between them and microsoft is that microsoft is always trying to add richer value and complex features. this is why i think microsoft's handheld software will eventually trump nokia, motorola and ericsson. sooner or later, they will be forced to license Microsoft software for cell phones/handhelds. it is a matter of time before the memory and processing power on handhelds become high enough for adding serious features and when it comes to adding features, hardware companies usually lose out to pure software companies.
