You guys are misguided. Nobody is suggesting (that I have seen) that we don't need farmers or that farmers are scum (as LTK implied about DMA's position). You guys insult people who don't agree with your positions that farmers need subsidies. Truth is that big business can provide for the masses quite economically. Sounds like you want to prop up the romantic idea of a small family farmer with our tax dollars. Sounds neat, but that is not how our system has been designed. There are a lot of businesses that change over time and farming is one of them. How many small car manufacturers do you see. How about banks? Or Airlines?

ps - Are you Dan Quayle? Its tomato, not tomatoe. Didn't think a dem would make that mistake.
