Hi Bill,

>> Steve: I recommend getting the hard-copy 10 page report from Teledotcom. For some
reason the WWW site leaves out 60% of the data facts.... Ariel CAP RADSL used "I
think" 6watts, Aware used 5watts, Performance 6Mbps none RADSL used 4.5 watts,
Paradyne used 8 watts, Westell used 7.2 watts, etc.... until later.

Don't have a copy of the report. The numbers you quote are for power consumption of the modem units. I'm referring to the power sent down the line from the modems transmitter. This will have allot to do with the performance numbers over long noisy loops. A hot transmitter will look good on a simulated test such as this but in the real wire plant, overall performance will suffer due to NEXT. There are other Spectral Compatibility issues that arise too.

Did they measure the xmit power? We did at the Bellcore Olympics.

Thanks for the great input bill
