Jeffords got notoriety and attention that he would not otherwise have gotten based on his own works. He saw an opportunity for attention and went for it.

I'm sure Jeffords is proud of it, but his great grandchildren probably won't feel very proud.

And if either of my two senators or representative are thinking of pulling a Jeffords (which is unlikely as I live in central Virginia), then they should know they've lost my vote.

I don't like people who change their position in the manner that Jeffords did: IMHO, he couldn't attain notoriaty and attention on his own, so he found an easy way to do it: afterall, he changed the balance of power in the Senate, and this is the first time a change of parties has caused that, right?

As I said, I'm sure he's proud, but his great grandchildren won't be.
