Michail, I'm glad you posted this as I am just learning about options, hopefully to augment my regular stock trading portfolio. Question: By selling the June 5 calls, you are betting the TIVO stock price will be close to or under $5 by option expiration in June so that you retain partial or full premium ($2.80) per contract, yes? I've been kicking myself all evening because I waited for TIVO to get to the top of it's range today before executing the short sale, when I would have been much better off buying around $6 (when it got my attention) and selling AH around $10 and then shorting later. However, at this point, anticipating the run was WAY overbought today, it sounds like your strategy was to buy today, sell the Jnaked une 5 calls, and profit from the falling stock price between now and then. Am I correct? And if so, do you have to hold (to the extent of your written calls) until then or could you sell stock shares for a big profit based on short term gains of the stock?
