You're joking, right? Bush talks a moderate game. But he's playing a very conservative game, with a "my way or the highway" attitude to boot.

Bush had better learn Clinton's lesson and do some triangulating towards the center if he wants to get anything done. The Senate Democrats are still very angry about the way the Senate Republicans treated Clinton, particularly the way they blocked all his judicial nominees, even very centrist non-controversial choices. They're in no mood to be accomodating.

If you're right and Bush is about as moderate as it gets Republican wise, then the Republicans are going to lose the midterm elections. Big-time. Because that's not what Bush ran on, and that's not where most of the voters are, not even the 48% who voted for him.
