Ford-ging Ahead Without Firestone

In one of the biggest business news stories ever, Firestone and Ford announced the end of their 100-year relationship and both sides are pointing the finger at each other in the wake of the Ford Explorer rollover accidents and pending lawsuits. Ford says the Explorer only rolls over because of bad tires provided by Firestone, while Firestone says the Explorer will roll over no matter what tire is on it.

Who is right? Who knows?...right now I guess the safe bet is to put Goodyears on your Chevy.

In a move some people say is reminiscent of Benedict Arnold, Vermont Senator James Jeffords bolted the Republican party, throwing control of the 50/50 senate to the Democrats, which
will certainly affect the Bush Administration’s immediate agenda.

We are unable to confirm the rumor that the GOP has presented Senator Jeffords with a going-away gift, a new Ford Explorer with Firestone tires!

The media is going to be telling you that 1st Quarter bankruptcy filings were at an all-time high, citing the faltering economy and growing consumer debt. What they are probably not going to tell you is that because of the new laws to take effect in 2002, making bankruptcy filing more difficult, there are just many people rushing in to “beat the deadline”.
