RE: "You must have taken advantage of the overvaluation you disapprove of?"
Implicit in buy low, sell high, is take advantage of under and over valuation. I depend on both to make the semi-equip cycle more profitable. My portfolio consisted, mostly of semis (ALTR, LSCC, XLNX, LLTC, MXIM), semi-equips (AMAT, ASYT, EGLS, KLAC, LRCX, NVLS, SVGI, UTEK) and CSCO, no dot-coms, B2B, internet infrastructure software, optical, etc. I don't disapprove of the pendulum swinging too far. My disapproval is for the culture of idiocy that has been promoted by the investment industry and accepted by the investing public.
This board has a pretty intelligent readership, but hardly any discussion of business fundamentals. The posters sound just like the retail analysts who upgrade because things are so bad. The idea that bad is good is Orwellian. |
