Thanks KLP, all one needs to do is look at the Democrat parties answer to Californias energy problem, to see how true the statement is. Their solutions fall into basically three camps.

1. Have the government take over the industry.
2. Artificially raise the price in order to slow demand (higher taxes).
3. A combination of the above two.

They won't talk about increasing competition, lowering barriers for people to enter the industry and providing additional supply, or freeing up the industry by letting market forces take effect. Their answers are socialistic in nature.
