What? Are zero-sum game? A shell game is more like it. The only ones misleading anyone are the market makers, but now they obviously can't accomplish their objective as easily, so they are going to cry and whine to Congress about it. It's pretty clear what transpires in your so-called zero-sum game. It's the biggest racket on Earth. There is absolutely no need for a middle man, and you know it. Supply and demand can and should dictate prices. Heaven forbid the price of a stock reflect the true supply and demand for it.

The only thing positive Knight probably sees in it is the fact that it may crush out weaker Market Makers, but rest assured, they will tell Congress the new system is squeezing their margins and they don't like that aspect.

Bottom line: Market makers are exactly like bookies in a Vegas Sports Book. They will make their money regardless of who wins.
