Art: Note that many cameras are now coming out with a direct USB connection to a computer, an indication that there may be no need for removable flash cards. Please help me understand the way flash cards work. Are you saying that photos are somehow stored on board the camera ex the flash card? Otherwise, a direct USB connection can only substitute for flash if the photo is take while the camera is connected to the PC. Not practical. What am I missing?
