Art, One of the reasons why I assume camera makers will not be incorporating all of the flash memory into the camera is the added costs of the flash memory. Camera makers would rather retail a camera for $300 with an inadequate 8 meg CF card, and let the purchaser spend the extra $100 for flash memory card. Furthermore, manufacturers recognize that while flash memory is cheap now and readily available, the demand/supply cycle will likely change in the future and the manufacturer does not want to risk its ability to produce the camera by a constraint on the flash memory component. Additionally, while I have found that for occasional uses of my Canon S100, my 32 meg CF card is adequate. But on trips where I will not have access to download the card, I will want far more capacity. Thus, I would not buy a camera that had a predetermined maximum amount of memory capability. Of course, I would never by the Sony Mavica, and it has been the best seller, so I may not be the typical digital camera consumer. Jason
