Gleevec, aka glivec, is Novartis' new baby for CML - very effective on chronic myelogenous leukemia and now undergoing clinical trials for a number of other tumors, e.g., prostate cancer, glioma - very promising, and has been fast-tracked. newcmldrug.com Novartis has an official site, but it seems to be screwed up: gleevec.com Someone who has posted on this thread from time to time - not one of the regulars - is undergoing clinical trials with Gleevec and my prayers are with him. My father's third wife died of glioma a couple of years ago - there was no real cure then. So my fingers are crossed.
