I don't agree, and most Americans don't agree either

And it is increasingly becoming fact that when most Americans don't agree with a matter of logic and morality, that matter is precisely what is needed and the right thing to do.

Low-income folks should pay the same percentage in taxes as everyone else. That is not the problem at all. The problem is that taxes are too high in the first place. We should be paying no more than ten percent in taxes, if that. We can generate stunning amounts of revenue on a mere five percent income rate, or even three percent. And low-income folks could pay this and feel good about themselves for a dang change.

But nooooo, folks be wantin' dang fifty-percent tax rates, much of which to waste on dang "programs" that don't work. We can seriously lower the tax rate for everyone, if (and this is a big if), folks would get it into their heads that government ain't no momma to be handin' them no dang checks (grin).
