Paul, Re: your 'post'

>Why ?

Gee, I wonder.

>Intel's OEM customers sell XEON Servers.
>So far, AMD seems to have lined up only Tyan to make a Dual AthWiper Motherboard.
>How many IT managers buy motherboards and roll their own servers?

LOL. I think you'll be (un?)pleasantly surprised by the number of OEMs that accompany the June 4th launch.

>Further - how many 4-way and 8-way AthWiper Servers will be announced in the next 6 months?

True.

Well, Intel has the fastest desktop processo-- Wait a minute, now they don't! Well,at least Intel has the mobile market to themsel-- wait, scratch that, no longer true. Well, they have the workstation and 2-way server mark-- Darn it! No longer true either.

So yes Paul, it appears Intel will exclusively control the n-way (n>2) server market for at least a few more months. Oh, and they have a lock on the Itanium market.

Congratulations!

Doug

p.s. So when Intel Xeon margins take it in the chin because of AMD's dual-capable A4s, how are they going to charge more for Xeons that work in 4- and 8-way systems? Aren't those the same Xeon chips that work in 2-way systems? I thought so.
