Yes, you hold down the Alt key while typing 0153 and when you release the alt key the symbol is typed. From your response, it's ALT + 0153, not Alt=0153. In case there's confusion, you don't type the plus sign. The + sign just designates holding down the alt key while typing the numbers.

If you have character map installed go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/ character map to see all the symbols you can type. The keyboard shortcut sequence will be listed on the bottom right corner of the map window when you select a character.

If character map is not installed go to control panel/windows setup tab/system tools section and click on details button and put a checkmark in the character map box. You'll need your installation disk to install the program.
