John, This will obviously take some more time in the courts. Whether or not the European courts will make broad interpretations of patents or narrow(markman style) ones is critical to the case.
Europe is traditionally more cartel or monopolist based and thus tends to give broad rights as they like to hurt themselves that way.(witness the Machines Bull and Olivettit disasters)
US courts are more favorable to narrow interpretations, possibly recognising the desire of any patent holder to broaden his claims ad infinitum and thus try to narrow them.
In this case it is quite clear that DDR does not indeed operate with a multiplexed bus.
