Intel's OEM customers sell XEON Servers.<

AMD need not sell a single processor into the server market to bring the prices of 256KB and 512KB L2 cache Xeon processors tumbling down. These processors are also sold into the workstation market, and I find it difficult to believe that Compaq will not be announcing at least an Athlon 4 based workstation.

Of course, considering the TBird is itself quite suitable for the workstation market, and the workstation/enterprise Palomino will be limited to 1.2 or possibly 1.4 GHz, a more logical announcement would be a thin server offering based on the Palomino. I do not expect this however, since Compaq just recently announced a PIII based thin server product.
