Hi Rob_S

Virtually all Half Duplex equipment ( eg Wi-Lan's) use
some form of Time Division in conjunction with xOFDM or
Frequency Hopping technology.

Wi-Lan goes on to modify the Time Division' Time SLOTS
on a demand basis with Adaptive Polling.
Not only does that make for most efficient use of TDMA,
but it also eliminates the "hidden station" problem.
You may read about that on their site.

My own suggestion for the next technological jump
would be explained in the IMEC presentations which I
referred to in my previous posts.

IMEC is one of the original members of the OFDM-Forum,
and apparently has worked in conjunction with Philips &
Wi-Lan in ASIC development. Note also that their are
working relationships between PHG & ISIL.

I think a close watch for further developments (from
these relationships) is in order. Thus my bullish
attitude toward WIN.

BTW I just jumped back into Agilent, primarily because
they are buying a recent IMEC spinoff.
