In our family it was refered to as Remberance Day. Each year, we'd go to the Confederate Cemetery and place flowers and flags on the graves of our family members. For the past several years, the local chapter of the DAR does this because many of the graves didn't have anything on them. Most of the families have either died out or they've moved away.

What I didn't know then was that we, all of us, have had MANY soldiers that died for our country. Good thing for us that they had a child before we died though, or we wouldn't be here.
