Goepling --- I find the timing of the various events interesting:

February --- Samsung gets contract with Compaq for Lithium polymer batteries
April -- Samsung gets contract with Palm for Lithium polymer batteries
May -- VLNC announces licensing agreement with Samsung.

Did Samsung jump the gun and announce contracts to supply batteries using technology not yet licensed, or did the indeed have a license with VLNC but VLNC chose to not announce it until May? Or is there some middle ground where the truth lies?

If I were Samsung, I certainly would not want to sign a contract with Compaq or Palm let alone announce it publicly before I had a deal with VLNC. To do so would (I would think) significantly compromise the negotiations with VLNC. But, perhaps the business aspects of the licensing deal was done (prior to February) and just waiting on lawyers to dot the i's and cross the t's.

I sure would like to better understand how these things happen. Does anybody have light to shed on this?
