Thread: Can anyone help me with a question on Mp3 players?

I've just discovered the whole new world of OTR (old time radio) on MP3 discs. This is soooo cool! There is an incredible fountain of great entertainment from the golden age of radio that is now becoming available on MP3 discs. These programs are in the public domain. Formerly, you might pay $10.00 for two half-hour episodes of programs such as "Suspense," or "Escape," or "Jack Benny," on cassettes. Now, you can get an MP3 disc with 75 programs for as little as $7.00!

But, my question is this: I can play these MP3 cd's on my computer just fine, with excellent sound quality. But I would like to have a player that would play them anywhere. I see that there are now products like "Rio" that are small portable players with headphones. But I want a player more like the portables that you would take to beach that have speakers included ... the ones that you can listen to your cd's or to am/fm on. As far as I can find, no one is offering such a product. All the MP3 "portables" are the miniature kind with headphones. If they can make these little ones, how come they don't seem to be making a bigger one with built-in speakers?

Is there such a thing, or are there any plans to make them available?

Many thanks to anyone who can enlighten me about this!

Thanks, J.C.
