Malaysia: Asia Lights Improve

The focus this week will fall on the light, sweet crudes from Malaysia and Australia for July, which have already started to be offered at stronger prices late last week.

Also, the current wide Brent/Dubai spread for July, at more than US$3/bbl, is keeping rival West African crudes out of the Asian market.

"This effectively makes the regional sweet grades more competitive," a trader in Singapore said.

Sellers of Asian sweet crudes should be taking the chance to try and dispose of as many cargoes as they can this week while the West African grades are out of the scene, trade sources said.
