Byzentine empire never survived the 500 years of Ottoman rule. With the fall of Byzentine Empire to Mohmet Fateh, what was left of the Greek Culture disappeared! It is only thanks to British historians and archeologists that we know so much about the classical Greece, and thanks to Vatican archives that kept the Classical works of Greek literature safe.

It is also a fact that during the Kosovo crisis they not only did not help with the US and NATO efforts but they went on rampage on AMericans and British and killed a memeber of British Embassy in Athens! The aslo sent help to a Milosovic, the war criminal! It was only the treat of expusion from the EC that made them to cool-off.
