Elmatador - I think rather that ALA going to US to destroy CDMA, the CDMA folks think it may be the mechanism to get 1xrrt EVDO on the 3G spectrum in Europe. This would allow data at 2.4 meg/sec in Europe about 2-3 years before it will be available if the Eurpopean telecommunications companies wait for their UMTS system. It may be the case that while European providers are interested in this technology, given how much they have spent on spectrum, it takes a European based equipment provider, (Alcatel/Lucent) to bring it in.
