BTW, Krugman is surely not considered a leftie by leftists! He's an economist who writes regularly for Fortune Magazine and The New Republic, the latter of which is regarded on the left with a kind of horror as an intelligent platform for neo-conservative views, lol. He's pro-free trade, for example, and pro-trust fund as an alternative to Social Security, two distinctly non-left positions. But attacking the messenger is always the easy the way out, isn't it?
