No, I don't acknowledge that at all. I think what she was doing is 1) following the rules; 2) modeling respectful behavior for the children; 3) keeping peace and focus in the classroom; and 4) allowing parents to maintain their proper leadership role in their children's religious education. Still, I was a bit uncomfortable about the transaction and I'm interested in knowing what others think might be a better response. How would you have handled it?
