I think you have made some good points Karen, but I'm not totally sold. The ideas inherent in what X said are not neutral and they do not necessarily follow from your constitution. First the statement "we can't discuss God at school" is not a true statement. Freedom of religion is not freedom from religion even though X would like it to be so. Even if X is restricted from "Advocating " one system as superior to another she is not thereby constrained from any discussion at all. Certainly the students themselves have every right to express and discuss these issues freely without fear of repercussions from an overzealous, agnostic teacher.

Secondly the ideas that God is personal, and part of our family culture are in and of themselves truth claims about the nature and reality of God. How then is that kind of stealth evangelization to agnosticism showing respect for the views of the students? On the contrary it is in direct contradiction of the students constitutional rights. It's kind of sneaky to.
