Companies involved in the PNG-Queensland gas project were advised of the appointment during a recent meeting they held with Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta. "Mr Lepani brings to the government side of the project wide experience and international respect in developments as important as gas-to-Queensland," Sir Mekere said. "He had a similar role in the development of the Kutubu oilfields."
