| there is no way to dispose of enriched uranium. it radiates for 100's, perhaps 1000's of years. bury it and the earth becomes radioactive. encase it in glass, and it breaks down the glass and irradiates the earth, or the sea. it does not occur in nature. it causes the most powerful and painful types of cancer and horrible death. yes natural uranium, radium and other metals also radiate. it's a question of degree. you may have noted that when Cheney was interviewed by Lou Dobbs on CNN about energy, Dobbs asked him about disposing of nuclear waste, Cheney said, "Well, i'm not going to go into those details tonight." as if he was going to answer it when the energy plan came out. HE NEVER DID ANSWER IT. i think when they did his last by-pass, they took out his heart. don't be conned by these guys. nuclear is a way to try to overcome nature. there is plenty of energy in sun, wind, water, hydrogen. and the technology is on the way despite all the foot dragging by the oil and nuclear gang. whatever they do they can't stop the truly practical ways to produce energy because there's real big money in it. and when it comes - say in 50 years, because the oil crowd is really powerful and can slow it way down. but when it comes, it will freeus. |
