You are only interested in the potential downside, not of the growth this industry will see not too long from now

No, it's more just the "attitude" I hear and it really has nothing to do with AMAT. If there was one stock I would buy and hold it would probably be AMAT. I'll admit I'm a trader so I focus on the emotions of the market and its "investors". I currently have no position but can't believe this is the bottom. If I'm wrong, so what, I'm a trader and move on.

I don't know when we are going to have a five year bear market, but I know I'm going to live through one. Some of you think this is impossible and will never happen. Like humans have changed and fixed all economic problems.

The reason I feel we have business cycles is because of human nature. During good times, we get sloppy. Idiots get promoted. We don't work that hard. We spend on frivolous things. But when things are bad and you're poor, you work harder. You skimp and save on everything.

I grew up in a resort town where in the winter I went to school with dirt poor people and in the summer partied with the filthy rich. Nowhere is this work ethic more prevalent than the ones born with a silver spoon in their mouths.
