Dear Tony:

The quietest systems are cooled with something other than air (at least high performance ones). With liquid or gas cooling, you can relocate the noisy parts away from the system (just look at your central AC system where the noisy compressor, fans, etc. are outside but, the evaporator in your house is very quiet). Who said that the pumps have to be in the case?
