FWIW, the day trading shop I worked for just went bust. The market for traders is now very different. 2 years ago, many more people had "extra" money that they had just made in the market and were willing to day trade with. Now, they are all "holding on to long-term stuff" (bad trades) and all those people with extra money have lost it back.
Added to that, commissions are declining, and the market is more difficult to trade.

2 mo ago, I was forced to cold call prospects and ask them if they wanted to be a day trader. "Are you crazy?" was basically the response I got.
