Injunction against Gone With the Wind parody lifted

May 29, 2001 (M2 Best Books via COMTEX) -- An injunction against publication of
'The Wind Done Gone', a parody of Margaret Mitchell's classic novel 'Gone With
the Wind', has been lifted by a US federal appeals court.

A three-judge panel of the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals heard less than an
hour of arguments before issuing its ruling, according to The Associated Press.
The appeal was brought by Houghton Mifflin, the publisher.

Alice Randall, author of The Wind Done Gone, and Houghton Mifflin said that the
book would be released within the next few weeks with an initial print run of
25,000 copies.

Representatives of the late Margaret Mitchell have declined to comment on the
ruling.
